The Kharosa Caves are situated in a small village named Kharosa in Ausa Taluka of Latur District, Maharashtra state, India. Kharosa a village situated at about 45 km from Latur City.
The place well known for its caves. According to the historians, these caves were built in the 6th century during the Gupta period. There are twelve caves, of which one has an image of seated Jins (Jain Tirthankar).
Other attractions include the beautiful sculptures of Narasimha, Shiv Parvati, Kartikeya, and Ravana.
Tourists can also explore the Renuka Devi Temple in one of the caves. On the top side of the hill, you will find the source of water which called as Seeta Nhani (Seeta’s Bathroom) as they believe that Rama, Lakshmana, and Seeta had once lived there.
Also, Villagers nearby are very co-operative and helpful.
