Mandakini WaterFall is located in Satara District of Maharastra State, India. The waterfall is formed by the confluence of the Bhagirathi and the Jalandari rivers in the Bhagirathi Valley.
Unfortunately, the waterfall has now almost reduced to a trickle, apparently after a flash flood in the Bhaghirathi area, a few years back. This is one of the highest waterfalls situated at 13,000 Feet above sea level.
The waterfall in Harshil, previously known as “Harshil Falls” is now well-known as “Mandakini Falls” after the shooting of the famous movie “Ram Teri Ganga Maili” here. “Ram Teri Ganga Maili” is recalled these days only for this waterfall scene, featuring actress Mandakini in a white sari. The transparency was unprecedented, and audiences went wild.
