The festival commenced on July 30 and will continue until August 30, offering tourists an opportunity to immerse themselves in the state’s culture and cuisine during the monsoon season.
According to the Gujarat Tourism website, the key events and attractions during the Saputara monsoon Megh Malhar festival include:
– Engaging activities and cultural programs featuring “renowned artists” every weekend and on public holidays.
– A dahi handi competition on Janmashtami (August 19, 2022).
– A “rain run marathon” and a soccer game.
– An art gallery displaying paintings, artworks, and other attractions related to the monsoon season.
– Delight in local cuisine and contribute to the upliftment of villagers in the vicinity.
